Q & A
What is Editorial Style Wedding Photography?
"Editorial" style photography takes its cues from fashion photography ~ high visual impact, beautiful lighting and creative angles. Additionally, I shoot with a fine art storytelling focus. I find sweet beauty in authentic candids and subtle details, and strive to capture the story of your wedding day unobtrusively. With a background in fashion & portrait photography, I am happy to guide poses, arrange and give guidance when necessary.
Digital or film?
Mostly digital, occasional experimental film.
What camera and equipment do you use?
Nikon D800 & Sony A7R II with a variety of prime, macro, zoom & wide angle lenses. Both of these cameras are known for their exceptional image quality; high resolution, sharpness of details, and rich color.
Portable studio lighting also available.
Do you have an assistant or second photographer?
A second shooter is always an option, and ultimately up to each couple to decide. I am totally cool shooting alone, but particularly for larger weddings, there are perks to having a second shooter (i.e. we can be in more than one place at a time and special moments / reactions can be captured simultaneously). My second shooters are always professional wedding photographers as well, not just "assistants" or friends with cameras. You're in good hands.
Is there a deposit required to book my wedding?
Yes. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a wedding date. $1000 if a second shooter or engagement session is part of your package. This will then be applied to your final balance which is requested before your ceremony on wedding day.
You can add on extra hours, a second photographer, engagement shoots, prints & enlargements, and custom fine art wedding albums. Just ask me for details!
When will I get my pictures?
Within 2 months.
How many pictures will I receive?
A ton. Depends on a variety of factors: the package you chose, the weather, number of locations, and most importantly... you!
Will you edit every picture?
Extensive editing (i.e. skin smoothing, artistic styling) will be done to the specified number of images in your package. All photos will get basic editing as needed – color corrections, contrast & exposure adjustments if necessary.
What won’t you do?
Not much. =)
What is the resolution of your files?
Sony A7R II = 42MP Full-Frame Exmor R BSI CMOS Sensor
Nikon D800 = 36.3MP CMOS FX-Format.
I'm an absolute sucker for super sharp images. Both of my cameras are beasts in this regard.
(You could print your photos billboard size if that's what you're into without any loss of quality!)
What kind of files will you deliver?
High resolution JPEGs, 300 DPI
color and b+w
I get you a replacement. Large network. I can still edit your photos if you prefer my editing style.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, of course. I am a fully insured professional photographer.
Happy to provide a venue-specific Certificate of Liability Insurance upon request.
